bea’s monthly check up
earlier this afternoon we went to st luke’s for bea’s monthly checkup. good news, she gained half a kilo. yehey! not bad for a baby who doesnt suck on her bottle for milk and just wont take in anything solid, plus would vomit the little food that goes into her system every now and again. she also had her MMR shots.
we arrived at around 5pm. we had to wait for some while since there were still 4 kids ahead in line. while waiting bea wanted to practice her walking skills. she walked along the corridor then daddy would practice her standing up with out holding on to anything. (she’s 1 yr and 3 months and still not walking yet… though the pedia assured us this was nothing to worry about and that she’s just setting her own pace.)
while inside the doc’s office, bea was given a bread stick and we were s happy the she grasped this bread stick eagerly and sucked on it. later , she was already chewing on it. she was eating on her own! another milestone! i’m so proud of my li’l girl today! she’s growing up… definitely. urgh! bittersweet!
memory gap…
as mentioned in my blogs prior this one, lately i’ve been very interested in digiscrapping. so i installed a photoshop program in my laptop. then i proceeded to download freebies from the net to start my digiscrapping. but these past few days my computer has been lagging BIG TIME! just starting up windows take a couple minutes. and i can’t open two windows at the same time! my ram was only 256. all along i thought that was enough but it seems adobe programs take up so much ram space! for 3 straight days i would sleep in the wee hours of the morning trying to surf and scrap. i would sleep at around 3 am and i’d be frustrated coz i actually accomplished nothing since my computer just won’t work!
hubby was very sympathetic, or perhaps i wasn’t that nice to look at anymore with the dark circles under my eyes and all. so i convinced him that we should upgrade our memory. we first went by ugong, pasig for some business that needed to be settled, then off to megamall (san pa ba?) we had a hard time looking for the right memory since the neo guys told us they prefer the kingston brand. we finally found the cheapest one, a kingston 1 gb ddr 533 for 4,950…and the neo guys from digital playground installed it for us so that this upgrade won’t affect our warranty.
now the computer performs so well that blogging and surfing is a pleasurable experience once again! i intend to enjoy this fast broadband connection, at least until the bill for this purchase comes.
6th anniv coming up!
hubby and i will be celebrating our 6th anniv next week… i want to celebrate it this year. we were supposed toREALLY celebrate last year but we were very busy with li’l girl. now i wish we can do something not that expensive, but really fun. oh well. i hope i come up with something soon!
digiscrapping… i love!
let me share about my new found interest: digiscrapping! i chanced upon this while i was blog hopping and i came upon this blog, and i got intrigued. i sent her an email, and she was very accomodating. she pointed me towards a forum of pinay scrappers. i joined the group and immediately felt at home.
why i like digiscrapping:
it’s cheaper and more practical, you can use the kits you download (which are also freebies by the way) over and over again. as long as you credit the designers accordingly.
you can undo any time you commit a mistake or you don’t like the actual outcome.
you don’t have to have hand skills for cutting, pasting, crimping etc
it’s something i can do to my growing library of digi photos.
it’s something artsy to do, without being artistic!
so excited was i that i bought 2 books about digiscrapping, the books were pretty expensive and hard to find ( we had to visit several branches of a bookstore in order to find one that carries the titles). one was Easy Scrapbooking and the other was Digital Scrapbooking in Easy Steps. i sure hope i finish these books soon! i chose these titles for they were for beginners just like me =)
i’m so impatient, i want to learn as soon as possible so i can start creating beautiful layouts. ( though i think my first one wasn’t that bad)
hmmm. artistic me. i never thought we would meet again…
the week we held our breaths…
Last sunday, bea’s yaya left to go home to cebu for a vacation. hubby felt that she was not coming back. i was a bit more hopeful. the week before kasi i went to the blessed sacrament and asked help from The Man! i told the Lord that He sent our yaya to us, she was an answered prayer (thanks to the help of my prayer partner sis mila!), and if it is His will that ayi maymay will still work for us and take care of li’l girl, He will make sure that she will return from her vacation.
saturday, joint effort namin ni hubby. naglalaba ako siya ang nag-aalaga. we had to leave before lunch. may dinaanan lang sa mandaluyong area, after that we went to megamall (san pa ba?) had to have my laptop checked, and buy some supplies for bea, at syempre hubby just had to visit the transport show! after eating sa kfc, hiwalay na kami ng lakad ni hubby, ako sa cyberzone, sya and bea, sa megatrade halls. syempre sinamanatala ko na rin ang time alone ko, bumili na rin ako ng usb light and mouse/mouse pad for my laptop. by the time i got to the 5th floor medyo tired na si baby. dapat babalik pa kami inside kaya lang ang lakas ng sounds and dami ng tao. naguguluhan si bea. hay sayang lang wala silang picture together. last year may picture sila, B kasi wants to pass on to his daughter his enthusiasm for cars. whatever.
sunday, hectic. read about it here nagtext si ayi earlier that day. nasa barko na daw sya. masaya ako, si B skeptical pa rin.
monday, dumating na sya!!!! ang aking kanang kamay! ang aking guardian angel! si B gulat na gulat at nandito na sya, di makapaniwala.
hay ang galing ni Lord, tumupad pa rin sya sa usapan =)
palanca letters, urgh!
have you heard of the palanca letters? those letters you give to someone close to you, where you would say things that will make him/her cry for a variety of reasons? out of anger/frustration/gratitude/happinnes etc. well earlier hubby and i had to make one for my father. he joined our parish PREX and it was part of their activities. don’t get me wrong, i didn’t hate the idea of writing to my dad, it’s just that there is so many things i have to say! words of supplication and gratitude. and well, we had a bday party to go to, and we were running late as it is. hayun. sa dami ng isinulat ko pati ni B, late na kami naka alis! pati naman kasi si Bea sumulat. (drawing of a stick-girl holding a phone to her ear saying “eeyow”) i didn’t expect him to cry. pa-macho ba. i just hope he takes to heart everything i wrote.
wala si ayi maymay so we had to fix bea pa, who was still sleeping soundly. B had to wake her up and give her a quick bath. syempre isa pa akong marami muna seremonyas bago umalis ng bahay, dagdag sa delay.
when we got to mcdo, ok naman, di naman masyadong nakakahiya. iba lang naman ang name na nakalagay sa banner nila. “huh? di ba trish ang name ng bday celebrator? bakit “-” ang nakalagay?!?” “ay mam tapos na po yung party nila, 230-4 po 5 na ngayon” needless to say, umuwi na ang may party, we were more than 1-hr late… hi trish belated happy bday by the way! hmmm… maybe we should write her a palanca letter and hope that someday when she reads it , she’ll understand…
